evo

I thought this EVO was crazy! It's rare to see an EVO around much... especially one sitting super low like this. I'm really feeling the color combo and everything.
I was talking to my friend Tuan who has a clean EVO 9 the other day. When I say clean... I mean flawless. He only has 5 or 6k miles on it, and he got it new in 2006. I'm trying my hardest to make him keep it and step the fitment up on it some. He's been rocking the Advan RS's in 18x9 +29 for three years now. GO Hard man!

evo power: part 2

I was driving down one of the main streets in Venice the other day, and randomly parked on the side of the road was a full Voltex widebody grey EVO9 with bronze CE28's in a line of Prius', BMW's, and Benz's like you normally see. It was so out of place yet so cool at the same time. It looked like a Voltex advertisement car was transplanted from Japan. It looked just like the EVO in the picture below but with Bronze CE28n's.

This is one of my favorite time attack action shots. It was taken at the world famous Tsukuba circuit in Japan. You are probably becoming more familiar with this track from videos like Option or newer video game driving simulators that feature Tsukuba.

Voltex holds all kinds of records around Japan and the world with their wind tunnel tested aero body kits. You probably will not be able to read much on their site, but if you start clicking around enough you'll find some nice pics. http://www.voltex.ne.jp/

Thanks to Derek for linking me to the post on EVOM! Now I found actual photos of the car I was talking about. I posted it up on Hellaflush for everyone to check out. Really really clean EVO.

evo power

EVO's are one of those cars that just do it right. I've been a fan of them since the 8 came to the states. It was a toss up for me between the EVO and the STI. I wound up with the STI because I was ultimately looking for the most bang for buck, and I found my STI for 4g's cheaper than any EVO at that time. I definately don't regret getting the STI. I'd have both if possible. The EVO is so similar in many ways, but a different beast at the same time.

If I was going to start fresh to build a track car I'd do it with an EVO. Some of the fastest track records around the world are held by tuned EVO's. Tsukuba circuit has always been the battleground of EVO's and GTR's. I believe an EVO holds the record there also somewhere in the 54 second range. I don't even think 54 seconds was believed possible up until recently.

I'm sticking with Suby power, but I'd sure like a 4g63 powered ride in my garage.
